G3

G3 is the third generation of RenderWare Graphics' rendering Pipelines. These pipelines work with any type and combination of lights.

G3X

Optimized third generation pipelines for PlayStation 2. G3x pipelines are specific to a certain configuration of lights.

Game Engine

"Engine" is an over-used word meaning a part of a bigger piece of software, as in a "game engine", a "graphics engine", a "sound engine" or an "AI engine". A "graphics engine" will predominantly handle the graphics for a game.

Gameplay

Gameplay is the substance that makes a game worth playing. Involves illusive things like "why are you fighting those monsters", "how did you get onto the planet in the first place", "boy those monsters are difficult to kill". Gameplay might also involve how easy it is to move around the world, whether the buttons are responsive or not. Think of gameplay as the equivalent to a good storyline in a movie.

Gamma Correction

A means of adjusting the color signals sent to the common cathode ray tube used for video screens to compensate for the non-linear response of the display.

Geometry

A collection of vertices, triangles, texture coordinates, normals, and associated data needed to display an object. Geometries are owned by atomics. They are supported in RpGeometry.

"Graphics Processor Unit" refers to the power and complexity of modern graphics chips comparing them with those of the CPU or Central Processing Unit.
