PlayStation 2 Specific.
On PlayStation 2, the lightmap rendering pipeline is implemented
using a unique two-pass 'darkmaps' approach. This requires that
base textures be pre-processed (see RtLtMap PlayStation 2
Overview) and has some limitations:
- base textures may not contain transparency information (though
the material may)
- only tri-stripped geometry is supported (this is much faster to
render on PlayStation 2 than tri-lists and it is trivial to convert
tri-lists to tri-strips should the need arise)
